Documents Required for Registration (Schedule VI) in CARINGS
At the time of registration on the Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System (CARINGS) portal, prospective adoptive parents are required to upload various documents to initiate the adoption process. Here is a comprehensive list of documents to be uploaded, as per Schedule VI:
- Current Family Photograph/Photograph of Person Adopting a Child:
- A recent family photograph or individual photograph of the person(s) intending to adopt a child.
- Proof of Identity (Any one of the following):
- Aadhar Card
- Passport
- Voter Card
- Driving License
- Proof of Residence (Any one of the following):
- Aadhar Card
- Voter Card
- Passport
- Current Electricity Bill
- Telephone Bill
- Proof of Income of Last Year (Any one of the following):
- Salary Slip
- Income Certificate issued by Government Department
- Income Tax Return
- Medical Certificate:
- Certificate from a medical practitioner certifying that the prospective adoptive parents do not suffer from any chronic, contagious, or fatal disease and are fit to adopt.
- For married couples, upload the respective medical certificates of both applicants.
- Marital Status Documentation (Applicable documents based on marital status):
- Marriage Certificate
- Divorce Decree
- Declaration from the competent court or affidavit on oath pertaining to divorce in cases where a decree of divorce is not mandatory
- Death Certificate of spouse (if applicable)
- Undertaking from Relative (if applicable):
- An undertaking from the relative in case of single prospective adoptive parents.
- Consent of Older Child/Children (if applicable):
- Consent of the older child/children in the adoptive family, if any.
