At Legal Light Consulting (LLC Lawyer), we assist clients in obtaining a Certificate of Bachelorhood / Single-Status / Eligibility to Get Married, a mandatory document for marriage formalities abroad. This certificate serves as official proof that the applicant is unmarried and legally eligible to marry.

Where the Certificate Is Issued

The certificate is issued by a competent Court or the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) having jurisdiction over the residential address of the applicant. Depending on the requirements of the destination country, the certificate may be issued either in the form of:

  • A Single-Status Certificate, or

  • A Sworn Affidavit notarized and authenticated by the SDM
